CompactLink was an option for cost-effective deployment of low and medium capacity PDH transmission networking.
It was suited for use in cellular backhaul networks, spur connections in utility and railroad networks, fixed wireless access networks and private networks.It could rapidly establish backhaul of E1/DS1 from cellular base stations and configure the link as either unprotected or protected.
CompactLink consisted of an Indoor Unit (IDU) and an Outdoor Unit (ODU). The ODU integrated transceiver and branching in one unit.
